Dedicated to the memory of Daniel Stevenson

This site is a tribute to Daniel Stevenson.

Daniel was a man who never flinched in his outspoken love of D&D, The Wheel of Time, Disc World, Excel, Accounting, American Politics, Epic Fantasy Novels, World Travel, PC Gaming, his Family, Friends and very furry pets.

He championed people and sang their praises, took the time to teach and support as much as he could.  He was a joyful, kind and mischevious man who is deeply loved and will always be remembered.

Our son Daniel.  So big hearted, warm, loving and generous and also often quite exasperating. So brave in his adventures around the world and also a great skier from the age of 12.  He made us so proud when he won his degree from University and so happy when he met and married his soul mate Karen.  We will miss him so much.

Thoughts

Some people make a difference just by being who they are. Daniel you were such a person. A kind soul and a beautiful spirit who always took the time for others. You made the world just a little more wonderful. I will miss your cheeky appearances on our FaceTime chats. I simply cannot believe you are gone. Sleep soft dear friend xxx

When I think of Daniel, I smile because he was truly one of a kind. He was a good guy and without guile. He had a good heart, many quirks that were uniquely Daniel including his particular sense of humour. It was a pleasure working with him during my time at Hyde and he always went above and beyond and helped everyone. I am holding on to the good memories of Daniel...

It's very hard to put into words what it means to me that this kind, gentle person, with his amazing imagination, has left us so young. Daniel, whom I've known since he was at primary school, beloved little brother of my best friend Lorna, always had an anecdote, recommendation of a book to read or film to watch, or a cheeky joke, or interesting topic to discuss. Always thoughtful and creative- I admired the fantasy book he started writing around age 12- I always thought he'd get around to publishing a book one day and be the next George R. R. Martin, whose writing he interoduced me to, among others. He was incredibly well-travelled and threw himself out into the world with enthusiasm, to my great admiration. I enjoyed seeing him at gatherings over the years, and loved attending his wedding to Karen, seeing them so happy and settled together, and making a lovely life for themselves. I know that he will be so greatly missed by all of his loving family, friends and colleagues. We shared a love of Middle Earth, and I hope that he may now be happily wandering there on his next adventure. Daniel, the road goes ever on and on.
